Owners, Raymond and Kay-Anne, both born in New Zealand, lived in Sydney Australia for 20 years. They moved back to New Zealand in 2007.

Raymond’s extensive knowledge of the fruit and vegetable industry and his unique way of displaying the produce has won him New Zealand awards.

Kay-Anne’s creativity and her love of flowers inspired them to create the almost art-like visual experience known as The Green Grocer, Thames.

Raymond, who is originally from Te Aroha, has an almost clairvoyant understanding of the seasons and is uncompromising when it comes to the standard of produce in store.

Established in 2013, The Green Grocer was designed and built by both Raymond and Kay-Anne right down to the custom made shelves that now display the produce and artisan goods in a way that inspires you to cook.

Their business model is simple. Buy quality, display it well, and offer customer care that brings back the values of community and trust.
